Policies

General Placement Policies:

As hobby farmers, we feel we have a duty of care to ensure that we sell to the best possible homes. Good homes must have goat appropriate fencing, housing, feed and friends.  Additionally, we give preference to those homes that are goat knowledgeable and have an existing relationship with a large animal vet.

To ensure our goats have the best homes possible we will only sell goats under the following conditions:

• Goats will not be sold as singles unless they are going to a home with other age appropriate goats as they are herd creatures.

• Babies on a bottle will not be sold until they are a minimum of 8 weeks old to ensure they are well established on solid foods

General Sales Policies:

Goats will be sold as one of the following:

•    As is.  The animals sold are in good health and up to date on vaccines, trims and other routine care, but no guarantees are made about their long-term health or genetics.

- OR -

•    Guaranteed.  The animals sold are in good health and up to date on vaccines, trims and other routine care.  The animals sold are intended as breeding stock and will be replaced by an animal of equal value if found to be infertile within 1 year of purchase date.

Additionally, we may request:

•    Right of first refusal. In the event the purchaser decides they no longer want any goat(s) purchased from Mist Kissed Mtn., the seller would like the first chance to buy the goat(s) back at the original sale price.
